"Don't cock wrists"
"Keep chests up during jumps"
"Point toes"
"Flyers stay tight"
Do these judges comments sound familiar? Despite the years and years of practice, these points always come up on the scoresheets. It's not enough to increase the difficulty of your performance, you need to master it. And that comes from a lot of it is technique, technique, TECHNIQUE!
Cheer Coach, in association with Cheerobics® has put together an online guide to help all you cheerleaders out there improve your basics. This is not targeted at any specific skill in particular, and is suitable for cheerleader at every level, whether a beginner or a pro. These methods have been tried and tested, and if followed properly will help you transform any skill by at least 2 points out of 10.
This guide is designed for beginner / intermediate cheerleader who wishes to do a little bit of background reading to improve their own performance, without being overwhelmed with purchasing and reading an entire book.
This quick guide will give you some tips and tricks to boost your technique, but please ensure that you ask your coach for direct teaching points and advice.
